Modular Routers

OptiSwitch-M

The OptiSwitch-M provides a wire speed IP routing solution without sacrificing any of the features required to build a scalable network. This is achieved by using a powerful hardware engine with network processors implemented on every port. These custom programmable processors are highly efficient and capable of analyzing and modifying any part of a frame at wire speeds. Additionally, the network processor can classify and prioritize each frame and enable per flow decisions such as: scheduling, routing, forwarding, rate limiting, and filtering.

OptiSwitch-Z

The OptiSwitch-Z products are modular Layer 2/3/4 Switch/Routers, optimized for scalability, performance, and multi-processing Linux IP services. The OS-Z family provides mid-sized to large systems featuring up to 16 blade slots, 256Gbps of switching capacity, 160Mpps throughput, and up to 32 Linux application processors.

Fixed-Form Routers

Fixed-form switches and routers provide a fixed number of Ethernet ports to which you can connect workstations and other network devices, such as servers, routers, and other switches. Some of these switches also allow plug-in uplink modules. Many of the product offerings support MRV's wide range of optical plug-in modules for maximal fiber-optic flexibility. The switches can be deployed as desktop-to-backbone switches, aggregating 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and Gigabit Ethernet traffic from other network devices.

Terminal Server

MAXServer

The Maxserver series of standalone terminal servers from MRV Communications provides comprehensive serial-based connectivity for a wide range of applications. The Maxserver allows seamless access from local or remote locations for a variety of devices, from terminals and PCs to bar code readers and data acquisition devices. These terminal/access servers are ideal for remote and Internet access, as well as client/server or business automation applications. They are available in AC-and DC- powered versions. With four models ranging from 8 to 40 ports, the Maxserver series offers multiprotocol support, easy-to-use management options, extensive security features, accounting and remote access capabilities.
